Since its creation, GCLEA has brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, public health leaders, patient advocates, community organizations, and policymakers to improve understanding of lupus, strengthen statewide collaboration, and inform strategies that enhance care and health outcomes.<\/p>\n

The CDC-funded Georgia Lupus Registry identified over 5,000 confirmed cases in metro Atlanta, offering one of the most comprehensive population-based studies and highlighting key racial and health disparities.<\/p>\n

The Georgia Lupus Outcome Study (GOAL) builds on this work by improving understanding of patient experiences, quality of life, and long-term outcomes. Other initiatives\u2014such as Lupus ECHO, which provides specialist-informed education to healthcare providers, and the inclusion of lupus questions in Georgia\u2019s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)\u2014help strengthen provider knowledge, enhance public health data, and support better lupus care across the state.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner gap=”0px” el_class=”efforts-row”][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″]\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tGeorgia\u2019s Lupus ECHO program connects frontline providers with lupus specialists through quarterly virtual sessions focused on improving diagnosis, care coordination, and lupus management across Georgia.
